Here, “Genkai” is translated “transported”.

“But even Altair cannot predict how the Creations from the collided worlds will appear in this world.”
Here, “Genkai” is translated “appear”.
The result of choosing the most natural word in English lines.

“We will use this as our bait.”
“We also shall run along the yoke of the Holopsicon. On the day of the Heptameron dust shall return to the giant tree.”

They have succeeded in bringing Altair and her allies into their own field.

“Selesia, everyone. The magnetic field disturbance has begun. Meteora will begin the ritual. Are you ready?”

“I bet. Knock yourself out”

Meteora starts her ritual.
“With the incantation of the Holopsicon and wisdom, I hereby declare. Come forth Vogelchevalier!”
“Holopsicon” is a principle Meteora follows in her magic practice as well as the specific magical feat performed by Altair.
Here, “Genkai” is translated “Come forth” in imperative.

“Welcome home, Vogelchevalier!”
“Is that Selesia's machine? It looks really different from mine, but hers is pretty cool too!”
“Hey, let me drive!”
“Too bad! The principles are completely different. I don’t think you’d be able to.”

The subtitle indicates the subtle differences between those terms such as concept-principle and system-mechanism. Here, it tries to translate the whole phrase “The concept is different” and has resulted in “the principles are completely different”. This is a good instance of considerate translation. Existing translation engines often fails to do this. Professional translators are even worse.

But Selesia was able to drive a car which must work based on quite different principles from her Vogelchevalier. True skill lies not in endeavored learning but in the supple adaptation ability. This anime heavily demands it to its viewers.

Yuya has also regained his ability to wield Kuronagimaru.
“It really is stronger. It’s time for the main event. Got it, Selesia?”
“Of course.”
But the enhancement of their battle ability will not directly lead to the victory. This is the subtle part of this anime.

Assignment of secondary creation

Devise the difference in piloting principles between Vogelchevalier and Gigas Machina as a backstory, and depict the scene where the pilots of each other are confused and convinced when they exchange machines and fight against each other.

“That’s right. This is how the story has to be. Meteora.”
Altair is aware of all the movements of Meteora. She is also very keenly aware of the particular proceeding way of a story. Quite different from incomplete quasi stories manifested in the real world, ones in fictionality are well defined in their composition. The awareness for them must constitute the ethics of creating fictional works. Re:CREATORS is a work created very faithfully to this principle.

Episode 17 starts.
“Flying object confirmed on Mineokayama radar. Opening EIS/BX satellite image from the U.S. Department of Reconnaisance. Bogey Altair and bogey Alicetaria confirmed. One additional unidentified Creation and one vehicle. They disappeared into the clouds in the video. I am unable to confirm them. Heading is 80 degrees, distance 13 miles. Approach 304 degrees, speed 90 knots. Altitude 11,000 feet.”
“They’re coming from the sky! The situation is out in the open. Please start. Open the cage. Stop airing the ending of yesterday’s story, switch the monitor to the live video. Don’t forget to pass it through the conversion filter.”

Episode 17 main
“Altair has been captured within the barrier. Close the lock. Start the chant.”

“The Chamber Festival has already started!”
“Really? Go to the website. Alicetaria is playing the enemy. This had better be good. The enemy’s a magician, two types of robots… And something from a manga for girls.
“I don’t know much about it. They seem too strong.”
“I’ve reached the data limit!”

Altair and her followers are lured into the Bird Cage.
People are appreciating the situation as a work of fiction.

“It’s been a while. Are you ready to receive my warm welcome?”
“It has been a while. I haven’t seen you around. I thought you had run away.”
“No matter. Let’s begin. I am not just the only one, nor are either of you. The abominable gods who created us all, and anyone who knows about us and enjoys watching us. We are all participants in this chaos. And now everything is about to be complete.”

“Rui calls to Selesia.”
“Selesia, follow my leads.”
“Got it.”
“I thought you were trying to stop the world from starting to break. It looks like you have abandoned your strategy.”
“We decided to finish things off with you here to stop the world from breaking any further.”
“That’s not going to happen, Selesia. I will eliminate anyone who stands in the way of me achieving my dream to change the world. And then we shall commence our courageous march again.”
Here Altair is using the term “eliminate”.
“This is an irrevocable truth.”
Alicetaria appears.
“Reflector Field!”
