Focusing on the video game Muv-Luv ALTERNATIVE, we will examine the characteristics of the game work presentation that has materialized on a computer screen, together with the possibility and actuality of the expansion and transformation of the means of expression of fictional world manifested through incorporated media such as print, image and sound; as a consideration on the potential implication of the genre called computer games.
By actually playing the game as a visual novel, which is a mode of unique fictional presentation that superimposes a story and a symbolic conceptual structure, presented in visual artistic expression that is both interactively operated and appreciated, we will be able to discuss the philosophical characteristics of video games as a new genre and the unique subject represented in it. It is expected we are able to explore further philosophical implication of scientific discourse and metaphysical speculations surpassing it.
