Fantasy as Antifantasy: 8 Kiss and Riddle continued

It was this charming woman who captured the artist’s heart to hint at the inexplicable correspondence between the outer and inner universes and the mysterious relationship of all things. The kiss on her lips was something that Wendy couldn’t get even if she wanted to. It is right in front of you, but at the same time it is infinitely far away. It is the kiss revealed on Mrs. Darling’s lips as the embodiment of a contradiction, and also a superposition of the choices of the exclusionary law, which gains the highest praise as the attribute of existence manifesting the unity of opposites. (note)

note:
As an example of the absolute deviation from the general law of Nature, similar to that of miracles in Christian mythology, it may be assumed that the selective function of implying a transcendent mystery and an extreme sublimity is predicated on the notion of “kiss.” It is a novel concept that should be considered as a new assertion of the logic of graceful exception, which has the power even to restore the state of heat death at the end of the entropy increase, which, by being superimposed on the laws of Nature in place of prophecy or revelation, will decisively impede the development of the logic of generality that seeks to pursue comprehensive interpretability of the universe through the assertion of the uniformity of time and space postulated by Newtonian cosmology.

The “kiss” was also a compass needle that contained the magical power, pointing in the direction of the location of the mysterious world-constituent axis.

The gaiety of those romps! And gayest of all was Mrs. Darling, who would pirouette so wildly that all you could see of her was the kiss, and then if you had dashed at her you might have got it.

When Mrs. Darling dances, she spins so violently that the only thing that people around her can see is her kiss. It is as if the existence of a secret key that unlocks the pivot of the world’s existence mechanism is implied at the moment when the critical point of the energy value possessed is exceeded, which will take on a completely different appearance and reveal its hidden attributes of existence under the new aspect of the excited state. This method of attribute description, which can be seen as an innocent play of ideas or an example of the transcendent account of speculative cosmic principles, is further amplified through the mysterious relationship between her kiss and Peter.
Compare and contrast, for example, with the following passage in Edgar Allan Poe’s Eureka (1848), and you will see that the ideological ground of Mrs. Darling’s embodiment emerges more clearly. It seems as if the possibility of a mysterious coincidence and exquisite sign that overthrows the subject-object relationship between the condensed map that the rotating object gives to its surroundings as a synthesis of dynamic projections and the integrated image of the world projected on the rotating object’s own vision in a continuous image as a result of rotation, is implied in it.

He who from the top of AEtna casts his eyes leisurely around, is affected chiefly by the extent and diversity of the scene. Only by a rapid whirling on his heel could he hope to comprehend the panorama in the sublimity of its oneness. But as, on the summit of AEtna, no man has thought of whirling on his heel, so no man has ever taken into his brain the full uniqueness of the prospect; and so, again, whatever considerations lie involved in this uniqueness have as yet no practical existence for mankind.

It is the wondrous power of Mrs. Darling’s maternal principle that makes it possible to manifest the representation of the oneness of the universe, which forms the basis of Poe’s Romantic philosophical reflections in Eureka, inversely by rotating herself violently, rather than by standing on the top of Mount AEtna and looking around. It was Mrs. Darling’s kiss that served a definite function as a banner for the revelation of the secret locates of the world’s existential structure, which made possible such a graceful miracle of the inverted chain union of the maximum and the infinitesimal, or the subject and the object. (note)

note:
It must be admitted that, the idea of “coincidentia oppositorum” advocated by Nicolaus Cusanus, who conceived a new way of describing the attributes of the Christian God that transcends the limits of the understanding of the largest and the smallest by boldly combining the neo-Platonistic law of contradiction with the modern mathematical limit concept, must have had an important influence on the peculiar fundamental perception that formed the ideological character of fantasy, in that it presupposes a positive evaluation of the elements of logical contradiction implied by the opposite.
