Modified interpretation of King Arthur is attempted in Fate/stay night.
In this video game, King Arthur was actually a woman, Arthuria.
Her real personality is depicted as an obsessed monarch who vainly struggles to reestablish the lost kingdom.
Like her, Alicetaria says, “The path to saving my world lies right in front of me. I must take it! I have no mercy for those who stand in my way! The world can certainly be revolutionized. If it is not so, then all our efforts have been in vain.”
Meteora calmly points out.
“So, that is your desire. I understand your situation, Ms. Knight. However, confusing your desires with reality will lead you down the wrong path. Such a desire is a curse.”

This criticism directly applies to the chivalric endeavor of Saber.
Meteora represents the severe criticism on Saber depicted in Fate Zero.

Contemporary people’s judgement does not approve Alicetaria’s chivalry.
Alicetaria exclaims, “Bastard! Your words are false!”
Meteora answers, “I am telling the truth. I shall not waste my breath talking to you.”

Selesia’s counterattack.
What is the mechanics of this move?
It does not seem to be a type of swordsmanship but shock wave.
No explanation is provided.
There is an existing fictional convention in a cultural context.
The viewer readily accepts it.

Alicetaria summons Gotz using the gauntlet she wears.
Gotz von Berlichingen was a legendary mercenary knave. He lost his right arm in a battle and used a steel prosthetic hand that was capable of holding objects such as shield. Goethe wrote a play based on his life.

There is a common understanding of the cultural background in the anime and game world that authenticates fictional settings.

A middle-aged gunner wearing glasses appears in front of Mamika and starts to talk about the difference in values.
“Talking through things only works when both sides want to.”

Characters from different fictional worlds are gathering with different judgment that carries the world view of each work. It is quite different from the world of Romance where all the characters share the same judgement. Differing worldviews are in conflict. But at present, it seems to be barely within the real-world's coordination power. When it reaches the limit, what Meteora called “Great destruction” will occur. It is supposed that may be the true purpose of the Military Uniform Princess.

The man suggests, saying, “By the way, if you use your Magical Splash Flare at full power, I’m sure you could stop the fight. Why do you choose not to do it?”
“I can’t use such a dangerous power.”
Mamika is hesitant to use her decisive special moves.
“Then stand aside and watch. Their behavior is foolish.”

The gunner controls a machine attached to his left hand and floats in the air.
Levitation is carried out according to specific ability of each character.
The audience or the world accept them.

The middle-aged gunner introduces himself.
“This is the first time we meet. My name is Blitz Talker. Think of me as someone working on the side of those who do not want you to interfere.”

The girl in black sailor seems to take the position of a by-stander, and is enjoying their battle.
“Swords, magic and now a gun? Amazing. I wonder what’s next.”

Selesia asks Meteora, “What about your weapon? Like last time.”
“I promised Kikuchihara I wouldn’t use it without her permission.”
Meteora refrains from using weapons in accordance with her promise to Kikuchihara.

“What did you say?”
“No, no. This is life. You never know what’ll happen. For example, your spear. You might get stabbed by that, instead of by me. That would be funny. Don’t you think so? Would you be surprised?”
“I shall not die at the hands of one who spouts nonsense! You buffoon!”
“A lie about a lie. It turns inside-out on itself.”
The girl lets her opponent speak the negation of negation.
It seems some kind of magical manipulation is administered by the girl.
But Alicetaria is rescued by the intervention of Selesia Upitilia.
Magane cries, “Oh, oh, who is it now?”
Meteora introduces herself, “A creation, just like you.”
Selesia asks, “You killed someone, didn’t you?”
Magane answers, “Why do you ask? Is it any of your business?”
Alicetaria insists, “I have unsettled business with that piece of rubbish. Step aside.”
“No matter who she is, I can’t have you raise a commotion. And you are in no position to pass judgement on her.”
“She is like poison. If we leave her alone, she’ll spread death to everyone around her.”
“I agree with that, but the person who is spreading death the most is your boss.”

Magical girl Mamika remarks.
“Wait! I’ve been thinking about it. About what the Military Uniform Princess said and about what you said. Who should I believe? I couldn’t find the answer. But there is one thing I know for sure! We don’t need to hurt each other!”
Meteora responds, “Just like you say. There’s no reason for us to fight. However, that is precisely what the Military Uniform Princess wants. As long as you are acting according to her machinations, then we must act in order to stop you.”

Alicetaria says, “You must be the seeker of a Thousand Miles. Are you claiming that the Military Uniform Princess has been deceiving us?”
Here, “Banri” must be translated “a Thousand truths” not “a Thousand Miles”.
In many Japanese homonyms that are pronounced “Ri”, there is a word meaning “Mile” and also a word meaning “Truth”.

Meteora answers, saying, “Changing the world isn’t as easy as she says.”
Alicetaria insists, “This is the home of the gods who created my world. How can that be?”
Meteora interrogates, “Ms. Knight, do you think that the gods of this land are all-powerful?”
“Of course. Those who created the world are gods. Miracles happen because of the gods. It is unthinkable that creation would be impossible.”
“There is a critical flaw in your understanding… I want you to think about it. Are the people you see in this world really all-powerful? They do have the power to create worlds. However, just like us, they live in a world with various limitations and hardships. They are neither immortal, …”

There is a big difference of God image between Middle Ages and Modern time. We can imagine a creator who is not omniscient and omnipotent but has limited powers.

Extraordinary ability to materialize concepts
A technic that phenomenalizes fictional existences

Kikuchihara is covering up the crime scene.
“Please report the incident as a robbery-murder to the surrounding residents.”
When Meteora asked for covering up at the council, they declined her request. But actually, they do practice cover-ups. This is the way of the government.
“The last person who left the bookstore was a schoolgirl. Her school uniform was black instead of navy. She had black leather gloves and a Shimenawa Shinto rope decoration. According to witness, it looked like a costume.”
Meteora judges her personality. “A villain character. She must be that type of character. She’s definitely a Creation.”
Selesia comes to the site. But Kanoya had declined to come. Meteora says, “He was forced to fight battles he didn’t want to. I think he must have been very stressed.”
Rui Kanoya is picking girls at that time. But his activities are watched.
Meteora says, “We have someone keeping guard over him. Let him do whatever he wants for now.”

The extraordinary girl shows up in front of Alicetaria and Mamika.
“How grandiose. A knight on a white horse and a magical girl?”
Mamika accosts to her, “I know this is sudden, but can you use your powers to help us?”

“We’re working together to try to return to our own worlds. I mean that’s not the only thing we’re trying to do. That’s why we’ve gathered. This world is the world of the gods who created us.
We’re trying to find those gods and get them to help us and…”

As there are different structures in languages, so there are differing background conditions that construct each fictional world.

The deviations manifested in each fictional entity interfere in the real world.
Differences in the attitude of acceptance of one’s own world and of the world of those who created it. Actual reactions of each fictional characters are depicted in this anime.

The girl readily accepts all Mamika told.
“This world is a good world, isn’t it, Magic Girl? I see.”
The girl accepts everything and is very glad of being manifested in this world without any hesitation or resentment.
What is the personality setting of this girl? How will her character descriptions be?

The feeling that converts all stimuli into joy and pleasure.
It’s a mental function that is often held to offset the squeak of the heart.
In the case of this character?

“Gods. That sounds like a lot of hun.”
But Alicetaria bears a strong antipathy against her.
“I do not like it. You smell of blood… You have a murderous aura about you. Your lies are like poison.”
Alicetaria says to Mamka, “Mamika, she’s not a good person like what you were hoping for.”
“If you’re doing something fun, I wouldn’t mind helping you out.”
“Silence! You are the type of person who cares nothing for anyone else. Even for creating a disturbance in the age of the gods, I do not want to ally with a criminal like you! I swear, by my dignity as an upholder of justice, this is absurd!”
The girl answers, “Oh, Ms. Knight. You say I don’t care about anyone else.”
The phrase “Ms. Knight” bears a compound perspective in English usage.

The broad perspective implied by the two words “Ms. Knight”, which is extravagant in real usage.
Large divergence is joined by this phrase. This mechanism is introduced as its main axis in this anime.

“Oh, Ms. Knight. You say I don’t care about anyone else. You have no right to say that about me. That’s what I think…. People who do that are people who don’t care about anyone else. And what are you doing holding the spear like that? …But whether it’s for justice or it’s for fun, killing is still killing. Which part do you think is wrong? Killing someone? Or the reason was wrong?”
The girl skillfully draws Alicetaria into an eerie dialogue.
Ethical issues, which is good and which is evil, act of actual murder, or the intention?

This theme was interestingly developed in the anime PSYCO-PASS, introducing a setting where criminals are judged by their latent possibility of committing a crime.

Principles of chivalry, on Justice and Fairness are questioned.
What is the principle of action of the strange girl?
How the voice actress plays the role of this peculiar character?
“I wouldn’t mind fighting you, but you wouldn’t be able to win against me!”
Through dialogue and particular speech, by specific propositions and assumptions, the girl draws Alicetaria into her own field.

Again, in Sota’s line, “Genkai” is translated “appear”.
What would the most appropriate English translation of Japanese word “Genkai” be, that covers both “transport” and “appear”?
“She said she’d let us know if she detects anything abnormal. I got this from her. The devices of this world are so easy to use.”

Meteora states her situational assessment.
“I surmise that she has not yet been able to complete her work. If she only damages the world halfway, then the world’s restoration power might throw her out of this world. I think that’s why she is hesitating to act. We shall have some time left to do something.”
The world has an autonomous function to try to eliminate foreign influences. Similar implicate order of the world is depicted in Mub-Lub Alternative through the notion of “causal conductor”. Please see the article below.

Meteora argues the need for the manifested beings to confront her directly in order to limit extra influences.
“I was concerned that the ‘Creations’ were interfering with each other. However, now that the number of ‘Creations’ here has increased, I think it is more important to suppress secondary damage and to reduce the impact on this world, even if it means we must interfere. In situations that require direct confrontation, in order to reduce impact to the external world, we will do what we can. I would like to ask you to locate and protect the other ‘Creations’ that get transported to this world, as well as their creators.”
Here, Meteora mentions “Genkai” in the original scenario. It is translated “transport” and afterward “appear”. It is better for the subtitle to find some word that may be able to cover both ideas, such as “manifest” or “materialize”.

I would like to discuss this subject concerning translation together with foreign students, making use of Re:CREATORS as text.
Meteora continues, “In particular, the hunt for “her” and the creator who created “her”, is of utmost urgency…. In order to stop people from panicking when a confrontation occurs, I want you to create a cover-up.”
But “cover-up” will be a risky procedure, because as the government people say, “If the cover-up leaks, people will start losing trust in the related organizations. Then the residents wouldn’t believe the information we release.” The government people are depicted as highly considerate ones, which makes the work persuasive. But Meteora has a sound idea on this issue.
“However, shocking the residents directly increases the disturbance inflicted on this world. The more people know the more the ‘repetition rate’ of the cracks increases.

Meteora is pointing out the influence on the collective consciousness of this world.

What Meteora is referring to may be termed as “Collective Unconscious” that Jung posited.
The function of consciousness will make the main motif of this psychological anime.
“One more thing. In order to be able to move around in this world, please grant us legal status.”
“Kikuchihara responds readily.
“We will work with the Ministry of Justice and the National Personnel Authority to issue the three of you a valid Status of Residency and appointments as government officials. We will issue the necessary documents.”
Very concrete specific terms are mentioned in Kikuchihara’s response that will gain effective result in comparison with the extraordinary situation they are facing.
Kikuchihara concludes the conference.
“Based on the proceedings of today’s council, I will draft a proposal to submit to the Cabinet. I request the cooperation of the various ministries in handling this situation. The creators and the creations will be granted the protection of this Council as of today. Excuse me, Sota Mizushino. That includes you.”
Kikuchihara deals with everything related to the proceeding of the council. Maybe, other members are incapable of carrying out these detailed matters, that are beyond the ability of those who has risen through ranks by learning hard. Kikuchihara only may be the capable person in them.

Meteora asserts the significance of saving this world.
“It’s the place where we lived my life as myself. In other words, the world. Therefore, I love the place I used to live and this world too.”
Selesia also says, “We’ve always been trying to save the world. So, I don’t mind trying to save this world too. Fictional beings are ready to establish their raison d’être at any time.

But Meteora says, “The creativity and will of this world has shaped our world.
In that case, the final solution will be creativity and willpower. In the end, your imagination, not ours, is the key to saving this world.”

“Um…. if you don’t mind, you can keep staying with me. It’s totally fine with me. It feels like a sleepover. I’m having fun.”
Marine is happy to have girl’s night.
