Fantasy as Antifantasy: 6 Pan-religion and Peter

6 Pan-religion and Peter As everyone knows, Peter is an eternal child who will never grow up. However, an eternal child is actually an impossible being. This is because, in the original meaning of the word, “child” refers to a living organism that inevitably grows up and becomes an adult. What sets Peter apart from the other children is his steadfast refusal to grow up, but in reality, there is no such child. Peter is the embodiment of logical contradictions. Not only that, but there is certainly a part of Peter himself that hints at non-existence, as well as the world of Neverland. It can be said that the existence of Peter is a symbol of some kind of impossibility, with the contradiction itself as the principle of existence. For example, let’s examine his unique ability to fly, while reviewing the way of logical inference. There are no children who don’t grow. →No child does not grow. There are no children who can fly. →No child can fly. Therefore, a child who does not grow can fly. As a syllogism, it is actually a rather dubious proof, (note) but only for the transformed parts, indicated by “→”, this is the correct transformation formula in the world of logic, which recognizes empty sets without elements as a single set. It is one of the rudimentary processes of logic to generate a definite proposition “Non existent something is…”, applying the rule that the value of the proposition is equal even if the predicate part of the proposition is replaced by a modifier with the subject, and eliminate the “not” in the negative proposition by converting it to the genus “no” crowned on the subject. note: Naturally, a reasonable syllogism would be as follows. Peter is no child. No child can fly. Therefore, Peter can fly. The development of propositions from the orderly substitution of equations by the assignment of equivalent values is a condition for correct inference. The deviation from this proper procedure is called logical disruption. By the way, this kind of deviation from the orderly development of the Nature is actually the essence of the cosmological revolution that has been acknowledged with the concept of “clinamen”, in the phase of physical dynamics, asserted by Epikouros. A fictional description which gives the basic idea that functions as the source of this kind of rupture will be regarded as the creative core of organic thinking. The opportunity in the consciousness for the generation of a delusional idea that depicts an impossible situation, in fact, reflects the fundamental principle of the maintenance of the universe. Thus, the apology for fictionality indicates the creative principle of consciousness that is closely connected with the structure of the universe. Impossibility depicted in fantasy literature must be considered in this context of the relation between consciousness and cosmological system structure. The idea will be further discussed in the author’s study of fantasy literature, Fantasy as Antifantasy 2: A study of The Last Unicorn, Bokka-sha (2009). According to this rule, each of “existing” and “non-existent” is just one of the attributes possessed by the hypothetical entity that is the subject of the proposition. In the same way, being imaginary, such as an imaginary number, and antinomy that contains logical contradictions, can be one of the many attributes that are retained in a hypothetical (modal) “being.” In fact, it must be the basic grammar of the world of fantasy that has expanded this logical space, which considers “is not — “to be equivalent to “non existant — is”, and depicts the manifestation of phenomena that are endorsed as impossible. The underlying world-building principle hidden behind Peter and Wendy had to be understood as a metaphysical perspective-building formula involved in the redefinition of the mode of existence and the choice of the mode of description, as distinct from the obvious fallacy mentioned above. Both modal logic and fantasy contribute greatly to the revival of metaphysical ontology in modern times. Twentieth-century people, who have killed God, the principle of existence, may have chosen only the metaphysical logical system and the metaphysical fantasy world to resurrect it. Peter is the embodiment of a paradox that has been given the attribute of being the source of an empty set, and one of the ideational beings belonging to the genealogy of the “Utis” (Οὖτιν) inherited from the distant Greek world, which is connected to the legendary German phantom “Niemand”, who is omnipotent because he has been modified to be non-existent, and “nobody”, who retains a transcendental ability in the English world that can manifest itself only as a subject in linguistic space.
